CHINESE SINGING COMPETITION

On 25th July, 2021, the Confucius Institute of University of Cape Coast held an online singing competition themed “Everyone, let’s sing Chinese songs.  The purpose of this competition was to strengthen cultural exchanges between China and Ghana, provide a platform for Ghanaian students who love Chinese songs to showcase their talents. It was also aimed at enhancing communication and friendship between Chinese and Ghanaians.

Participants were required to record a video of themselves singing a Chinese song. A total of 12 songs were submitted. After a thorough selection process, 8 contestants emerged as winners. The first prize winner received an amount of GHS200 and a power bank, the second prize winner received an amount of GHS 150 and a notebook while the third prize winners received an amount of GHS100 each and a notebook. The remaining contestants were given consolation prizes of GHS50 each and a pen.
