On the 9th of January 2021, the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast (CIUCC) successfully held the first HSKK Chinese Language Examination for the year 2021. A total number of 19 candidates participated in both the HSKK elementary and HSKK intermediate Examinations.
To ensure that the examination was successful, the Confucius Institute made full preparations before, during and after the examination. In order to help candidates to attain good examination scores, tutorials and mock exams were organized for them.
Appropriate measures were put in place to help prevent and control the COVID-19 Pandemic, during the exams. All staff of CIUCC and students were required to adhere to strict COVID-19 rules and regulations such as; putting on nose masks, having their temperatures checked, sanitization of hands before and after the examination and adhere social distancing protocols. Candidates were only allowed to enter the examination center after they had followed these rules. The teachers distributed the examination admission tickets and guided the Candidates to fill in the necessary information required for the examination.
During the examination, Professor Zhou Guiping, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute of the University Cape Coast and Professor Ishmael Mensah, the Ghanaian Director of the Institute, visited the examination Center to observe the examination process.
The acquisition of HSK and HSKK Examination Certificates increase students’ chances of getting scholarships to study in China and also apply for jobs. The Institute will continue to improve the examination process and system, and further enhance the efficiency of examination services.
