Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana holds the launching ceremony of the new Chinese language center

The first Chinese language center of Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast was held successfully on February 16th, 2017 in the University Practice Senior High School(UPSHS)Chinese language center. The Director of the Education Department of the Central Province of Ghana, Director of the Cape Coast Education Bureau, Director of the University of Cape Coast, Chinese and foreign director of Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises, Staffs and students of the UPSHS and other staff of the Confucius Institute participated in the launching ceremony. Ghana TV, Ghanaian Times and Ghana sub-station in Ghana made a live coverage of the launching ceremony. 
The Director of the Education Department of the Central Province of Ghana in his speech, acknowledged that the language barrier was a bridge. He continued by adding that, the establishment of the Chinese language center will facilitate the exchange of Chinese and Ghana native language. 
Prof. Hu Liangcai, director of University of Cape Coast Confucius Institute, reviewed the profound friendship between the leaders of the older generation of China and the leaders of Ghana, pointing out that the relationship between Ghana and China will be more harmonious. In his speech, he introduced some relevant issues concerning the Chinese language and literature and promised to address them by the second half of 2017. He continued by encouraging students to take their examination seriously. The UPSHS leaders also made some speech. They greeted and congratulated the audience for their time in Chinese . After signing a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides, the guests and the Chinese and foreign directors attended the ribbon-cutting activity of the special classroom for Chinese teaching in UPSHS. 
There was also a performance by some students of Chinese learners from UCC. The performers sang a Chinese song by the name "Friendship for a long time". There was a scene play "Chinese class" and a self-created song with the title "Friends" reflecting the friendship between Chinese and Ghanaians. After the launching of Confucius institute of University of Cape Coast , UPSHS has been in contact with CIUCC. Tutoring of the chinese language on one-on-one basis has commenced and we believe that this will influence other schools to take part in CIUCC. Again, the University of Cape Coast Confucius institute plans to open three overseas Chinese teaching sites this year. The success of the new Chinese teaching class opened a new year for the development of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast Confucius institute.
