CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE DIRECTORS VISIT KEDA (GHANA) CERAMICS COMPANY LIMITED

On the 6th of March, 2021, a delegation from the Confucius Institute of the University of Cape Coast (CIUCC) led by Professor Zhou Guiping, the China Director, paid a working visit to Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited.   The delegation was warmly received by the management of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited led by the Managing Director of, Mr. Li Wei.

The Ghana Director of CIUCC, Professor Ishmael Mensah, after introducing the members of the delegation to the management of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, indicated that the visit was to discuss matters relating to the teaching and learning of Chinese language and creation of job opportunities for CIUCC students at Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited. He indicated that if the relationship between the two institutions is strengthened, it will be a win-win situation for the two institutions.

Professor Zhou Guiping, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, expressed her gratitude to the management of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, for their support towards the establishment of the Chinese language teaching programme at the company and looked forward to further cooperation which will lead to the creation of employment opportunities for University of Cape Coast graduates, national service persons and Chinese language students of CIUCC.

Mr. Li Wei, pledged to continue to support the Confucius Institute to promote Chinese language and culture in Ghana and to provide some job opportunities for outstanding graduates of University of Cape Coast. In addition, he hoped that in the near future, their company can work in collaboration with the university. The Ghana Director of CIUCC responded that, the Confucius institute would do its best to assist Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited to cooperate with the University of Cape Coast Business School and other departments. Thus, outstanding students and Graduates could do their internship, national service or be fully employed at Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited.

Present at the meeting were Dr. Rebecca Dei Mensah, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business of the University of Cape Coast, Mr. Chen Jiemin; a representative of Yiyang City, Hunan, China, and Mr. Charles Delali Adegah; a teacher at the Confucius Institute of the University of Cape Coast.  Mr.  Jiang Zhicheng, Technical manager at Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited; Mr. Liang Weixing, Finance manager at Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited;Ms. Yang Yingjie,Human Resource manager at Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited and Ms. Ning Jiali Administrator of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited.
