CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE AT UNIVERSITY OF CAPE COAST HOLDS A PUBLIC LECTURE ON “THE RISE OF CHINA AND OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICA.”

 

The Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast on November 15, 2017 held a public lecture on the Campus of University of Cape Coast on the theme "The Rise of China and Opportunities in Africa". The Lecture was delivered by Professor from Hunan City University, Prof. Yi Yongqing, a delegate to the China-African Urban Development Forum 2017 organized by CIUCC and CAIS-UCC.

The professor’s lecture was supported by Dr Amuquandoh, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Professor Hu Liangcai, China Director of Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast, and Professor of Geography and other. More than 300 people audience attended the lecture.


Professor Yi Yongqing used exquisite pictures and vivid language to highlight the history of the friendship between China and Africa from the four stages of Han, Tang, Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern times. China and all African countries, including Ghana, have suffered the hardships of the Western colonial aggression. As a result, the people of China and Africa once formed a profound friendship in the common fight for the independence of their nations and the wellbeing of their peoples. Professor Yi Yongqing said that China is a country that pursues peaceful development. The development and rise of China have provided wisdom and opportunity to the people of Africa and Ghana. In particular, the "One Belt and One Road Initiative" has created favorable conditions for the future of friendly exchanges between China and Africa and has provided both the African countries and the Ghanaian people with good intelligence and tremendous opportunities for development.

 

Wrapping up, Prof. Eric Amuquandoh introduced the China Summer Camp program to the students, encouraged the faculty members and students to learn the Chinese language, cease the opportunity to study and work in China and contribute profitably to the everlasting friendship between China and Ghana.

 

 

 

海岸角大学孔院举办“中国崛起与非洲机遇”讲座

当地时间11月15日,一场由海岸角大学孔子学院精心策划,主题为“中国崛起与非洲机遇”的讲座在海岸角大学成功举办。主讲人为湖南城市学院的易永卿教授,海岸角大学孔院邀请了海岸角大学社会科学院院长埃里克教授(Eric Amokwadoh),海岸角大学孔院中方院长胡亮才教授,以及地理与区域规划系的各位教职工作为到场嘉宾,海岸角大学师生300余人参加了讲座。

上午11点,讲座准时拉开序幕,海岸角大学的师生们都早早到达会场,翘首以盼。易永卿教授利用精美的图片和生动的语言,从汉、唐、明清、现当代四个阶段为大家讲述了中非友谊的历史渊源。中国和非洲各国,包括加纳都曾饱受西方殖民侵略的苦难,中国和非洲各国人民曾经为了民族的独立和人民的幸福共同战斗,结下了深厚的友谊。易永卿教授表示,中国是一个追求和平发展的国家,中国的发展与崛起为非洲和加纳人民提供了智慧和机遇。

据悉,海岸角大学已有千余名学生在海岸角大学孔子学院学习汉语,在加纳掀起了一股“中国热”。最后,埃里克教授(Eric Amokwadoh)向在场师生介绍了海岸角大学赴华夏令营项目,鼓励在座师生学习汉语,争取有机会去中国学习和工作,并为中加友谊天长地久致以美好的祝愿。一席话赢得了会场阵阵掌声。

到场嘉宾 创造了有利的条件,更是给非洲各国和加纳人民提供了智慧和巨大的发展机遇。
