CHINA DIRECTOR OF CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE – UCC, PROF. HU LIANGCAI HOLDS TALKS WITH PRO VICE CHANCELLOR OF CAPE COAST TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY TO ESTABLISH CHINESE TRAINING CENTER IN CCTU.
Prof. Hu Liangcai, China Director of Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast paid a visit to the Pro. Vice Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University, Prof. Samuel K. Ansah to discuss establishing a Chinese Language Training Center .This is to help train the students of the Technical University in Chinese Language and Culture. The meeting was also attended by other senior staff members of the University, such as Mr. Michael M. Bentil, Registrar, Mr. Kwame Tenadu, Director of Language Training and Development Center(LTDC) – CCTU, Mr. Richmond Anamah Yeboah, Lecturer – LTDC and Mr. Ben Ebo Attom, Director of IRIA – CCTU.
The meeting began with a warm welcome by the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel K. Ansah. He indicated that the Vice Chancellor had travelled and had therefore appointed him to chair the meeting. He also added that the University has been waiting for an opportunity like this to partner with any Institute that is willing to promote Chinese learning in the University. After the Pro Vice Chancellor’s speech, Prof. Hu Liangcai was given the opportunity to present his side of the cooperation in a power point presentation.
Prof. Hu began his presentation by stating that there is a great friendship between China and Ghana, in terms of trade, education and other activities. He proceeded by introducing Confucius Institute and their collaboration with University of Cape Coast. Prof. Hu indicated that there are more than 500 Confucius Institutes established around the world, which includes Confucius Institute – University of Cape Coast . He also stated that Confucius Institute UCC has established classrooms at University Practice Senior High School and University Primary School, and other classrooms are going to be established in the Region soon.
He further introduced the programs of Confucius Institute – University of Cape Coast, which are the teaching program, summer camp, scholarship program and the Chinese bridge program. The Outreach programs, the 3 credit Liberal Course and the HSK training course. The Summer Camp is being organized for 20 students within the age of 15 – 30 on a full scholarship upon arrival in China. Students will therefore have to pay for their own international air ticket. The Chinese bridge program is a Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students. It is a large-scale international competition organized by Hanban every year.
He ended his presentation by stating that the Institute is willing to establish a Chinese Language Training Center at Cape Coast Technical University, to train the students and even the staff who are willing to learn. In future the center can grow into a Confucius Institute at the University.
The Pro. Vice Chancellor appreciated Prof. Hu for his presentation and stated that the University is very much interested in such cooperations. He added that the board members will go through the sample memorandum of understanding (MOU) which that Institute has given them and call up for further arrangements. It was decided therefore that the MOU is likely to be signed in August, 2017.
海岸角大学孔子学院院长与海岸角技术大学副校长会面商谈汉语教学点建立事宜
当地时间2017年6月29日上午，海岸角大学孔子学院院长胡亮才在海岸角技术大学会议室与海岸角技术大学副校长萨姆· K·阿萨会面，双方商定建立汉语教学点，教授中文和中国文化。海岸角技术大学教务主任迈克·M·本、语言训练与发展中心主任夸美纳·特纳度、讲师里奇孟德·阿拉玛·叶波也出席了本次会面。
副校长萨姆·K·阿萨向胡亮才院长转达校长的意愿，校长表示一直在寻求机会与海岸角大学孔子学院合作，希望双方建立友好的合作关系并在海岸角技术大学建立汉语教学点。萨姆·K·阿萨表示全校对于建立汉语教学点的热情很高，希望尽早开展汉语教学。
胡亮才院长表示中加两国在商贸、教育和其他项目上建立了良好的合作关系。海岸角大学孔子学院是全球500多所孔子学院之一，现已建立海岸角大学实验高中和海岸角大学附属小学两个教学点，还将在莎玛高级中学、库西亚艾丁北部中级职业学校、曼特西皮姆高级中学、加纳中部省警察厅总部，海岸角大学孔子学院即将在其阿克拉分校与青建国际（加纳）发展有限公司建立汉语教学点。胡亮才院长介绍海岸角大学孔子学院现已开设中文拓展班、HSK训练课程、选修学分课、中华文化课，汉语本科专业也即将开班。海岸角大学孔子学院每年都会组织15——30人，参加为期两至三周的中国暑期夏令营活动。
当天，胡亮才院长和副校长萨姆·K·阿萨达成共识，将在2017年8月签订合作协议。
