On 25th August, 2021, the Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast held an online Chinese idiomatic storytelling competition. The purpose of this competition was to strengthen the cultural exchange between China and Ghana and provide a platform for Ghanaian students who love Chinese songs to showcase their talents. It was also aimed at enhancing communication and friendship between Chinese and Ghanaians.
Participants were required to make a video telling an idiomatic story in Chinese language. A total of 20 songs were submitted. After a thorough selection process, 16 contestants emerged as winners. The first prize winner received an amount of GHS300 and a school bag, the second prize winners received an amount of GHS 250, third prize winners received an amount of GHS100. This time around, provision was made for best performance award, most eloquence award , most creative award, and winners were given GHS100 each. The remaining contestants were given consolation prizes of GHS50 each.
