The 43rd Chinese Naval Escort Task Group arrived at Tema Port in Ghana for a five-day goodwill visit to Ghana. The team arrived on June 27 and were met on arrival by the Deputy Defense Minister of Ghana, Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Lu Kun, Mr. Tang Hong, President of the Chinese Society in Ghana, the China Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast (CI UCC) and over 300 observers.
In the early hours of 1st July, the Navy brought the visit to a close and embarked on their voyage back to P.R. China. Before their departure, spectators had photo opportunities with the Naval Officers. As the Navy vessels undocked and begun to leave the port, the officers on deck treated the spectators to a guard of honour and good waves and the spectators; including dignitaries, members of the Chinese Community, staff and students of CI UCC waved the Chinese and Ghanaian flags and wished the officers’ a safe journey.Â
