On the 10th of January 2022, CIUCC held a workshop for newly appointed local Chinese language volunteer teachers at the institute. During the week-long programme, the volunteers were taken through a series of training to prepare them for the task ahead of them. The workshop covered topics such as classroom etiquette, classroom management, classroom activities, how to prepare a class lesson, and how to write a lesson plan. There were practical training such as classroom demonstrations by teachers of the Confucius Institute.
Professor Francis Eric Amuquandoh, Provost of the College of Humanities and legal studies, University of Cape Coast, and Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey, Registrar of the School of Humanities and Legal studies, attended the opening ceremony. Prof. Amuquandoh advised the volunteer teachers to be worthy ambassadors of the institute and help in building a bridge of friendship between China and Ghana. The China and Ghana directors of the Confucius Institute also admonished the new teachers to abide by the rules and regulations of the university and CIUCC.
The workshop commenced with the newly recruited volunteers delivering their lectures. The audience which composed of the China and Ghana directors, local teachers, and Chinese teachers listened attentively and gave valuable feedback to the presenters, to help them to improve on their teaching skills.
