Confucius Institute’s New Chinese Director visits UCC Vice-Chancellor

The new Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, Zhou Guiping, on the 1st of December 2020, paid a visit to the Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong. The Vice-Chancellor held a brief ceremony to officially welcome the new Chinese Director to the University of Cape Coast.

Present at the ceremony were, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh; Registrar of University of Cape Coast, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame; Provost of the college of humanities and legal studies, Prof. Francis Eric Amuquandoh; Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Kwame Osei Kwarteng and the Ghanaian director of the Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast, Prof. Ishmael Mensah.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong,in his remarks affirmed the work of the Confucius Institute and hoped that the Confucius Institute with the cooperation of the Ghanaian
Director and the new Chinese Director will attain greater heights.

Director Zhou Guiping sincerely expressed her gratitude to the University of Cape Coast for its continuous support to the Confucius Institute. She also expressed her appreciation to the Chinese and Ghanaian directors as well as the entire staff of the Confucius Institute who worked hard even during this pandemic to ensure the smooth running of the Confucius institute of University of Cape Coast. Director Zhou promise to quickly familiarize herself with the work of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, clarify the development ideas and also work hard to make the Confucius Institute of University of Cape Coast the best Confucius Institute in the world.
