CALL FOR PAPERS

In the 21st century, challenges with global warming have attracted more attention to the climate. Building resilient cities calls for adopting the concept of “Smart Cities” that employ smart and green construction, energy efficiency, nearly-zero energy buildings, and the reduction of CO2 emissions. To ensure high quality urban development, smart cities also need to make efficient use of artificial intelligence in areas such as transportation, shopping, bill payments, and all other aspects of daily life and put in place welfare packages to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The China-Africa Urban Development Forum seeks to bring together experts from China, Africa, and the rest of the world to present research findings and share ideas on green, smart, Quality urban development.
The conference will be organized under the following sub-themes:

Sub- theme 1: Intelligent construction and high-quality urban development
Sustainable and resilient urban development
Urban resilience to natural disasters and pandemics
Robotics and automation in construction
Inclusive and accessible cities
Urban mobility and transportation
Smart city governance and policy
Cultural heritage preservation and historical landmarks
Legal and regulatory issues in technology adoption in urban development.

Important dates:
Submission Deadline for abstracts: 31st August, 2023
Notification of Abstract Acceptance: 7th September 2023
Submission Deadline for full papers: 20th October 2023?
Arrival and Registration: 17th November 2023
Conference Date:18th-19th November 2023

We invite researchers in the broad area of urban studies i.e. Conservation, Planning, Geography, Architecture, Sociology, Health, Technology, Transportation, Tourism, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Agriculture, Anthropology, Economics and other urban-related fields to present and discuss new research findings and other perspectives on urban studies.

Paper requirements:
Abstracts should not be more than 500 words.
All abstracts should be submitted electronically through the following email: confuciusinstitute@ucc.edu.gh
Papers submitted for publication in the conference proceedings should be original, and should not be under consideration for publication by any organization or journal.
Papers should have theoretical value and practical significance
Full papers should be between 6,000 to 10,000 words with APA style referencing.

Registration Fee
Participants will be required to pay a registration fee of US$100.

Accommodation, food and conference materials
Hunan City University, the main sponsor of the conference will provide hotel accommodation, conference materials, food, sightseeing, local transportation and other social events free of charge for all participants whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation. However, participants will be responsible for their return flight tickets.

Publication and awards
Top papers will be selected by a panel of experts and the authors will be awarded with certificates and cash prizes accordingly. The selected papers will be published in relevant academic journals. All papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings.
