Conferences
Conferences play a vital role in allowing researchers to meet and share information and research findings. It also allows program planning, informal networking, and formal education opportunities sharing of academic progress and growth and discussion of strategies to support students’ learning. At CIUCC we organize conferences that bring together experts from China, Africa and the rest of the world to share knowledge.
China-Africa Urban Development Forum
The Confucius Institute, University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organized a series of conferences dubbed “China-Africa Urban Forum” since November 2017. The theme for each year varies. This has been done in collaboration with Hunan City University, the Centre for African and International Studies (CAIS), UCC, the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, UCC and with sponsorship from the Confucius Institute Headquarters (China Hanban). The conference is organized with support from the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture, Ministry of Inner City and Zongo Development, Ministry of Works and Housing and technical support from the Journal of Aussie-Sino Studies and Journal of Urban Studies.
The 2023 conference will come off in November, in China
