On the 14th of May 2022, the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast (CIUCC), successfully organised HSK and HSKK Examinations for the year 2022. Forty-eight candidates participated in HSK levels 1 to 5 Examinations whereas twenty-three candidates participated in the HSKK Examinations. Among these candidates were Nigerian students who travelled all the way from Nigeria to Ghana to write the examination. In the quest to ensure that the examination was successful, the Confucius Institute prepared adequately before, during, and after the examination. The Institute also organised tutorials and mock exams for the students prior to the exams in order to help them attain good scores.
To ensure the safety of students, the Confucius Institute put in place some measures to help prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 during the exams. Thus, all staff of CIUCC and students adhered strictly to COVID-19 rules and regulations. Candidates were allowed to enter the examination centre only after they had followed the Covid-19 rules. The teachers distributed the examination admission tickets and guided the candidates to fill in the required information.
The acquisition of HSK certificates increases students’ chances of getting scholarships to study in China and also apply for jobs. The Institute will continue to improve the examination process and system, and further enhance the efficiency and quality of its examinations.
