CIUCC STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ONLINE CHINESE SINGING COMPETITION

Due to the rapid spread of the virus, all face-to-face teaching and classroom related activities in Ghana were suspended. In order to enable students to continue learning Chinese and also increase their interest in the language, the Confucius Institute at University of Cape Coast had been organizing online classes and series of online Chinese competitions.

On 20th June, 2020 Confucius Institute of University of Cape Coast held an online Chinese Singing Competition which was a great success. The competition was divided into two groups; solo singing and group singing, with participants being required to record one or two videos singing a Chinese song. There were over 100 songs submitted and through a thorough selection process, some contestants emerged as winners. Amongst the participants were students from the University of Cape Coast, West End International School, Penuel International School, Hazelway International School, University Practice Senior High School and other students from other teaching centers

Music is a worldwide language which can cross cultural barriers and build a communication bridge between people. The participants through the songs expressed their love for Chinese language and culture. We hope their voices can bring some comfort and encouragement to everyone during this pandemic.

Congratulations to all Winners
