CI UCC Collaboration with UCC The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC)
The Confucius Institute, University of Cape Coast (CI UCC) has organized a series of conferences dubbed “China-Africa Urban Forum” since November 2017. This has been done in collaboration with Hunan City University, the Centre for African and International Studies (CAIS), UCC, the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, UCC and with sponsorship from the Confucius Institute Headquarters (China Hanban). The conference is organized with support from the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture, Ministry of Inner City and Zongo Development, Ministry of Works and Housing and technical support from the Journal of Aussie-Sino Studies and Journal of Urban Studies.
In November this year the Forum, under the theme “Green ■ Smart ■ Quality: High-quality Urban Development “will be held in China; the first after the post-COVID era. On 14th July 2023, the China Director of CI UCC met with the Registrar of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey and Prof. David Teye Doku, Director for UCC The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) to discuss collaborative academic research on the conference. Issues such as the formation of editorial board, call for papers, conference attendance and presentation and publication of conference proceedings were discussed.
The meeting opened avenues for further deepening the research Prowers of CI UCC and UCC’s research influence.
